Off the high street, emerging from the hustle and bustle of the busy market stalls, Joseph Deenmamode (aka Mo Kolours) makes his trod. A conversation takes root, it's seeds finding fertile ground in a bag of figs but it quickly blossoms in to fresh fruit of a different kind.

'Fruits of the Diaspora' is the brand new album from Mo Kolours & The Co-Operators. The debut release on HerbNest the new label founded by Martin Poole & Eeyun Purkins. An ocean deep mystical journey from the Maroon mountains of Mauritius to the Lion of Judah's home in exile, Bath, via London's Ladbroke Grove.

Returning from his wilderness years in Japan Mo is once again walking the streets of his youth, this time to the beat of his own drum. Much like producer and Co-Operators bandleader Eeyun, Mo is a multi instrumentalist. A percussionist by trade and has spent most of his own musical career as a producer as well. As a result this collaboration is the first of its kind. Combining The Co-Operators unique take on roots reggae with Mo Kolours' style that has always been a little way different.

Recorded between February and May 2026, the deeply collaborative process that created this LP shaped its unique timbre. The eccentric percussive partnership of Mo & Eeyun becoming its defining feature. A sound that is both brand new and ancient. Mo's plaintive voice weaves in and out of the rhythmic pattern of his hands and takes us on a journey down ancestral highways. Beating on the skin of his Ravanne. Blowing his Maroon Pipe. Or pulsing to the heartbeat of drums hand carved and crafted by Eeyun himself.

Whether chanting deep in the jungle or sounding the abeng from misty mountains high. This is an album of the deepest roots reggae. Drawing from an eclectic range of influences it weaves in the Indian Ocean feel of Mauritian Sega music creating a vibration of its own.

Shrouded in sacramental smoke it carries a message of a universal love that stretches way over yonder. Far beyond borders. It's roots spreading forth like those of the ficus tree.
